Moorhead Comprehensive & Growth Area Plan Updates

When: November 4, 2009

Time: Public Open House - 4 p.m.  &  Public Hearing - 5 p.m.

Where: City Hall, Council Chambers, 500 Center Avenue

What: Draft Comprehensive Plan Addendum available for public comment. 

The plan includes an updated City Vision, updated development concepts for the south and east growth areas, Downtown infill and redevelopment framework plans, and seven strategic initiatives.  Strategic initiatives identify how the Plan is to be implemented by posing recommendations for public and private actions to achieve the City's Vision. The initiatives include:

1. Use the Growth Area Plan to Guide Development Decisions
2. Downtown/Infill Redevelopment Area Framework Plans
3. Flood Risk Reduction
4. Support the Active in Moorhead Partnership
5. Adopt a "Complete Streets" Design Philosophy
6. Planning in a time of Economic Distress
7. Growth Management
